COMMUNITY SUMMER SOLSTICE ALTAR
Marking the transitions of the seasons
Summer Solstice is the point in the wheel of the year when the Sun is at its peak. It marks the longest day of the year and the shortest night. Traditionally observed by cultures around the globe, we honor the sun’s life giving power and focus on manifesting. We note the intensity of the season and the passage of the earth cycles. This is your altar. You are invited to visit the altar, bring something natural (flowers, stones, fruit, etc.) or biodegradable (paper offerings, things that can be safely burned in the solstice fire or poured out onto the earth, etc.) The altar space will remain up to receive community offerings and as a gathering place until the end of day following the solstice. Please note that the altar is outside, accessible to the public, and in direct sunlight. Come and celebrate. Bring a friend, dance, sing, recite a poem, tell a story... Our community is not defined by geographical-space but by heart-space and we welcome you into ours.
This is a family-friendly, inclusive, loving, safer space. If an offering is deemed inappropriate it will be removed, blessed, and respectfully disposed of.
